ØTinja Art Festival
April 28-29, 2017, 12:00-16:30 Štip @ quay of river Otinja, near the dam in Siutlak This action relates to the dysfunctional riverside and intends to give ideas for transformation of this public area. More precisely, the action is aimed at recently installed mini dam, which is forming a small lake on the river Otinja. An open air festival that includes art workshops, in which young people, artists and architects imagine how this area could be redeveloped. |
Air Basketball Tournament
April 30, 2017, 12:00-13:30 Štip, @ the playground in Senjak 4 A pantomime performance of an 'air basketball' match (playing basketball without the ball!) on a destroyed street basketball play-court (missing hoops to highlight the poor state of the neighborhood playgrounds and sport fields and advocate for their repair and upkeep. |
Non-Existing Cinema
May 6-7, 2017, 20:00 Štip, @ park K'r Tekje, across from the Multimedia Center This action points out to the fact that the city does not have an operating cinema for more than 20 years now. Films are shown for two days in a impromptu open air cinema on public ground, next to the multimedia center that does not work. The goal is to encourage adequate use of this space with regular cinema repertoire. |
Water for Everyone
May 6, 2017 Štip, @ Sloboda (Liberty) main city square and several other locations throughout the city The goal of the action is to raise awareness about the non-functioning water-drinking fountains in the city and to push for their repair and regular maintenance, both by the local authorities and the public alike. The installation itself takes a form of a text message (the title) made from drinking water bottles and several other offerings of drinking water next to non-functioning fountains throughout the city. The water is distributed for free to the people passing by. |
The Invisible
May, 2017 Štip, @ several locations on streets leading to the main city square Sloboda (Liberty) The action intention is to increase public awareness to the working conditions and abuse of workers' rights in the textile industry. Prints with birds eye view presentations of seamstresses working on their sewing machines are set on busy streets pavements, so pedestrians walk over them. |
Cavalleria Otrakana
May 20, 2017, 20:00 Štip, @ Sloboda (Liberty) main city square Staging of a opera performance with a theme of citizens loss of confidence in the public servants, loosely based on the Cavalleria Rusticana opera (the first opera performed in Macedonia and the city). The whole production is done by students from the local art academies. |
